Measuring Leadership Performance

The Complete Leadership methodology for measuring leadership performance uses a measurement instrument that has been systematically linked to business improvements of many types as shown in the diagram below. The tools of choice are the Denison leadership and cultural surveys. The measurements collected are tied to individual and organizational goals.

Improving Financial Results

Raising the leadership performance level of an organization's leaders increases its ability to deliver desired  financial results. Here is why Complete Leadership knows this to be true:

Individual Behavior Improvements:

Background Process coaching results in measurable improvements in the leadership behaviors of top Executives.

Cultural Improvements:

Improving the leadership behaviors of the top leaders has a positive and measurable cascading impact on an organization's culture.

Financial Improvements:

During a 15 year period, Denison researchers examined over a thousand companies and found that organizations with a high leadership culture are statistically much more likely to meet or exceed the financial goals of their business. The diagrams below illustrate this phenomenon.

Pinpointing Areas for Performance Improvements:

We conduct the individual and cultural surveys, analyze the results, and provide on-site feedback. The participating group as a whole receives the analysis of the cultural survey results, and each participating executive receives individual feedback on their own 360 assessment. These assessments, along with the interviews we conduct, enable us to pinpoint the  issues that each executive needs to address to achieve peak performance in their current assignments and in anticipated roles and environments. It also indicates behaviors that must be addressed to achieve a peak-performing executive team. As part of the feedback, we distinguish between foreground and background issues. This enables us to advise which improvements can be achieved through acquiring more knowledge and which ones require individually tailored transformational coaching.
